    Guidelines for Special Mention Posters – IASGCON – 2018, Chandigarh - Download 
     
1.  
    Presenters need to follow all guidelines as for poster presentations.
     
2.  
    Special mention posters will be displayed as paper posters along with the other posters at the venue, for preparation please refer to paper poster guidelines.
     
3.  
    There will be no presentation by the authors themselves, but at the end of the review and/or audience comments/questions, the author will be invited to address the issues raised.
     
4.  
    A 4 minute critique will be presented by an invited reviewer. This will be followed by a 4 minute discussion where the audience will be allowed to participate as well as the author would be allowed to respond to queries and comments that may have been raised.
     
5.  
    Chairpersons will keep a strict tab on timing for each slot.
     
6.  
    Reviewers will be provided the e-mail ids of the special mention poster presenters, so that clarifications, if required, can be sought by the reviewer before the conference
     
7.  
    You are required to submit a 3-4 slide PowerPoint presentation of your study. Please send the PPT to abstracts.iasgcon2018@gmail.com ; SUBJECT: Special Mention Poster PPT by 18th September 2018 which will be passed on to the reviewer for use in his/her presentation. However, the reviewer may or may not use those slides in his/her presentation.
     
8.  
    There will be 3 judges for this session and there will be an award for the best poster in this section.

    Guidelines for Free Oral paper Session at IASGCON - 2018, Chandigarh Download 

     

1.  
    Oral presentations (free papers) for Liver, Biliary, Pancreas, Esophagus, Stomach and Small intestine, Colorectal and Miscellaneous are scheduled on5th & 6th October 2018. They are categorized as Free Oral paper Session I, II, IIIand IV.
     
2.  
    Each oral presentation slot will be for 9 minutes including time for discussion. The presenter is advised to draw his/her presentation to a close within 6 minutes so that meaningful discussion (3 minutes) can be facilitated. At 6 minutes, the formal presentation will be closed. At 9 minutes that particular oral presentation (free paper) slot will be closed. Chairpersons are being requested to ensure that timings are adhered to strictly.
     
3.  
    Presenters are advised to concentrate on data presentation, and not waste time in prolonged introduction/literature review, and to avoid using complex backgrounds, or animations which may distract from the actual content of the paper.
     
4.  
    Please submit your PowerPoint presentation by 10 AM on 5thOctober 2018to the Preview Room.
     
5.  
    Please avoid formats such as macromedia flash, freelance graphics or Harvard graphics.
     
6.  
    Please ensure that during saving of your PowerPoint presentation, the fonts are embedded
     
7.  
    If there is a video clip, please use the “Pack and Go” format during saving the file.
     
8.  
    A preview room will be available where final adjustments can be made to the presentation.
     
9.  
    Please note that presenting authors must register for the conference, failing which their abstract/s will be withdrawn from the programme.
     
10.  
    There will be an award for each of the Free Oral Paper Session.
     
11.

    Guidelines for e-Video (Only for Display) at IASGCON 2018, ChandigarhDownload 

     

1.  
    Your video should be only in MP4/ MPEG format and well edited. The video presentation should be exactly of 8 min or lesser duration.
     
2.  
    Any Power point slides / photographs should be incorporated in the video itself.
     
3.  
    All authors are requested to strictly comply with their video time
     
4.  
    These e-videos will be played at LED screens during the entire day at a dedicated area at conference venue.
     
5.  
    The evaluation of these will be done by judges during 12.15 to 2.00 pm on 5th October 2018 and 6th October 2018.
     
6.  
    Avoid complex backgrounds or animations which may distract from the actual content of the video.
     
7.  
    Upload your videos by 10 AM on 05.10.2018 in the preview room.
     
8.  
    It is your responsibility to bring your video in DVD or video in pen drive to upload the video to preview computers. Please have spare copy available with you. If you bring your laptop, keep the video window open and in sleep mode incase it is required.
     
9.  
    Please make sure that your video runs on your side. We will use Windows 7/8 and Windows media player for the display.
     
10.  
    Leading author must register for the conference for e-video, failing which their video will be withdrawn from the conference.
     
11.

    Guidelines for Oral Award Paper presentation for IASGCON-2018, Chandigarh Download 

     

     
1.  
    Each paper will be allotted 10 minutes, 7 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion
     
2.  
    Presenters who wish to have more time for discussion must finish earlier.
     
3.  
    Chairpersons will strictly adhere to the allotted time of 10 minutes.
     
4.  
    Only the presenting author may respond to questions from the floor or the chair.
     
5.  
    Consideration for award may be disqualified if the presenting author exceeds time, or if the senior author answers questions from the floor.
     
6.  
    There will be three judges who will assess the papers.
     
7.  
    Selected award session paper authors are required to submit a complete “Introduction, Methods and Results section” in PPT format with approx. 8-10 slides to the secretariat at abstracts.iasgcon2018@gmail.com ; Subject: AWARD PAPER SESSION PPT) which will be passed on to the chairpersons/judges so that some preliminary study can be done before the actual presentation and to allow for a more fair and complete evaluation of the work. This should be sent latest by 18th September 2018.

    Presenters are advised to take note of the following:

      a.

    Stick to the point

      b.

    Long winded introductions or literature reviews are unnecessary

      c. Concentrate on the data being presented and their interpretation
      d. Keep a writing pad handy to take down questions, so that they can be answered without omission
     

Guidelines for power point presentation

     
1.  
    Stick with the fonts that come installed with Windows: - Arial, Calibri, Verdana, Times New Roman, Tahoma has got better readability than any other fonts available in windows.
     
2.  
    Avoid fonts smaller than 20pt because they will be too difficult to read.
     
3.  
    Avoid busy or cluttered slides.
     
4.  
    Keep a "Safe Area" around the edge of each slide because the images projected on screens is less than what is displayed on a laptop or desktop screen and material at extreme edges may be lost.
     
5.  
    Use colors that complement each other, using a light-colored font on a dark background and a dark-colored font on a light background.
     
6.  
    Know the transitions, you have used in the PowerPoint, to understand if they are automatic or need to be clicked.
     
7.

    Guidelines for Paper-poster presentation – IASGCON 2018, ChandigarhDownload 
     
1.  
    Posters will be displayed at the venue.
     
2.  
    Design and layout specifications: The entire poster must be mounted on a 48" x 36" [4 feet vertical x 3 feet horizontal] flex. The poster does not necessarily have to fill the entire working area.
     
3.  
    Your poster title, name, and department should be positioned at top- center of the board. The poster generally should read from the left to right, and top to bottom. Text should be readable from five feet away. Use a minimum font size of 18 points. Lettering for the title should be large (at least 70-point font).
     
4.  
    Leave some open space in the corners for attachment purpose. Accessories for mounting will be provided at venue. The location for particular poster will be available at poster desk, an evening prior to stipulated date for presentation.
     
5.  
    The Poster viewing and evaluation session will be from 12.15 pm to 2.00 pm on 5th and 6th October 2018.
     
6.  
    A Poster desk in the poster area will guide you. Please report to the poster desk and re-check your poster number. 
     
7.  
    You are encouraged to spend as much time as possible, during breaks, by your poster station in order to encourage interaction. We encourage you to carry some copies of your poster in A4 size for distribution to those who are interested in more details and do mention your e mail id in the A4 version so that those interested may contact you later.
     
8.  
    Do carry a small pocket book to take down questions, which will help you refine your poster.
     
9.  
    Poster awards include cash prizes and certificates. Prizes would be awarded only to the first author who is physically present during the evaluation and award ceremony.
     
10.  
    Please note that all presenters must register for the conference, failing which their posters will be withdrawn from the program.

    Guidelines for Video (Award) Presentation for IASGCON 2018, Chandigarh Download 
     
1.  
    Your video should be only in MPEG 4 or mov format, HD format and well edited. The video presentation should be exactly of 8 min or lesser duration.
     
2.  
    All presenters are requested to strictly stick to their allotted time of presentation. A buzzer or light signal will give indicator of 2 minutes and 1 minute prior to the allotted time, so that presenter knows to conclude the presentation. At 8 minutes the formal presentation will be closed.
     
3.  
    Any PowerPoint slides / photographs should be incorporated in the video itself.
     
4.  
    The discussion time is 2min, and total time allotted is 10min. Presenters who wish to have more time for discussion must finish earlier.
     
5.
